I would personally be thrilled to see applications of junior scholars who focus some or all of their work on Mongolia.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/mycareers.adm.ubc.ca\/psc\/erecruit\/EMPLOYEE\/HRMS\/c\/HRS_HRAM.HRS_CE.GBL?Page=UBC_CE_JOB_DTL&amp;Action=A&amp;PostingSeq=1&amp;SiteId=3&amp;JobOpeningId=16320&amp;\" target=\"_blank\">job ad<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>New Position in Public Policy \/ Asia at Assistant Professor level\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Institute of Asian Research (IAR) and the Department of Political Science, University of British\u00a0Columbia (Vancouver campus), invite applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant\u00a0professor level, effective July 1, 2014, in Asian public policy. \u00a0All policy specializations will be considered\u00a0relevant (for example, governance and policy-making, economic policy, environmental policy, social and\u00a0gender policy, urban policy, transportation, water, development).<\/p>\n<p>The appointment is a joint position between IAR (75%) and Political Science (25%). Candidates must\u00a0have a Ph.D. or be nearing completion. \u00a0Experience in teaching public policy related to Asia will be an\u00a0asset. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a program of scholarly research leading to\u00a0publication, effective teaching, graduate supervision, and service.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will teach and supervise at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the area\u00a0of public policy in Asia at the IAR and in Political Science. In addition, the successful candidate will be\u00a0expected to play a role in the ongoing development of a public policy degree program focused on Asia at\u00a0the IAR.<\/p>\n<p>The programs, faculty research interests, and general activities of the Institute of Asian Research are\u00a0found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iar.ubc.ca\" target=\"_blank\">www.iar.ubc.ca<\/a> and those of the Department of Political Science are found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.politics.ubc.ca\" target=\"_blank\">www.politics.ubc.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should apply through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hr.ubc.ca\/careers\/faculty-careers\/\" target=\"_blank\">UBC faculty careers website<\/a>, \u00a0and be prepared to upload a C.V., a description of current and future research interests,\u00a0evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a sample of their ongoing research, preferably in the form of\u00a0published material.
