{"id":25,"date":"2009-05-11T09:52:19","date_gmt":"2009-05-11T17:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/morrisonsetec565\/?page_id=25"},"modified":"2009-06-12T09:39:53","modified_gmt":"2009-06-12T17:39:53","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/morrisonsetec565\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About Sue M&#8217;s E-Portfolio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello There &amp; Welcome!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Sue Morrison, and <a title=\"ETEC565 Description\" href=\"http:\/\/met.ubc.ca\/met_courses\/descriptions\/etec565.htm\" target=\"_blank\">ETEC565<\/a> is the final course I&#8217;ll be completing in the<a title=\"MET Program Description\" href=\"http:\/\/met.ubc.ca\/program\/masters_program.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> MET <\/a>(Master of Educational Technology), here at UBC.<\/p>\n<p>Within this <a title=\"Web-Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dvorak.org\/blog\/primer\/blogprimer1.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Web-Blog<\/em><\/a><em>, <\/em>I will be including two broad components:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> An <strong><em>e-portfolio<\/em><\/strong> of ETEC565 course assignments<\/li>\n<li> Series of personal reflections, including specific components of the course<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>According to <a title=\"UBC on E-Portfolios\" href=\"https:\/\/www.elearning.ubc.ca\/home\/index.cfm?menuClicked=4\/&amp;p=main\/dsp_eport_index.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">UBC<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>&#8220;<strong>Folio thinking<\/strong>&#8221; promotes <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>self-awareness<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>motivation<\/strong><\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>direction<\/strong><\/span> and provides <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">invaluable support<\/span><\/strong> to individuals in academic, professional, and social settings&#8230;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to <a title=\"UBC on E-Portfolios\" href=\"http:\/\/net.educause.edu\/ir\/library\/pdf\/ERM0441.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Gary Greenberg<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>&#8220;An important benefit of ongoing <strong>ePortfolio participation<\/strong> is the opportunity to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>maintain connections<\/strong> <\/span>with <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>peers<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>mentors<\/strong><\/span> throughout one\u2019s professional career&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to<a href=\"http:\/\/net.educause.edu\/ir\/library\/pdf\/ELI3002.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"> Educase<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The benefits of an e-portfolio typically derive from the <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">exchange of ideas<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">feedback<\/span><\/strong> between the author and those who view and interact with the e-portfolio. In addition, the author&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>personal reflection<\/strong><\/span> on the work inside an e-portfolio helps create a <strong>meaningful learning experience<\/strong>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Accordingly, my personalized online collection of digitized artifacts, should help represent my personal <strong>knowledge<\/strong>, <strong>skills<\/strong> and <strong>interests<\/strong> in the field of Educational Technology:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Via materials such as presentations, reports, multimedia, course sites, etc., I anticipate these will provide an important <strong>record<\/strong> of my <strong>work<\/strong> that will be a <strong>useful reference<\/strong><\/li>\n<li> Hopefully, by adding my <strong>personal thoughts<\/strong> and <strong>written reflections<\/strong> about pieces included, this will <strong>invite feedback<\/strong> from others, and should provide a way to <strong>reflect<\/strong> on what I&#8217;ve <strong>accomplished<\/strong> and how my perspectives have <strong>grown\/changed<\/strong> over the course of the MET program!<\/li>\n<p>Looking forward to this project!<br \/>\nFirst Musings&#8230;<br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #663366;\">Sue M.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello There &amp; Welcome!
