Welcome to my portfolio! I am currently a third year Environmental Science student attending the University of British Columbia specializing in Land, Air and Water systems with a tools in Geographical Information Systems.
Through the GEOB 270 course I was able to acquire a wide range of skills such as obtaining, organizing and analyzing data, that has prepared me for upcoming courses and will also assist me greatly in the future. I have learned it is crucial to read lab tasks ahead of time so that one is able to work more efficiently during lab periods and also to work collectively with peers to double check if any errors are made. By taking this course I am now able to see how important GIS really is and how useful it can be. I had a proposal to do for my Environmental Science class and in the methods section I wrote that I would use GIS to standardize, sort and represent data. That was probably one of the proudest moments for me because it was so much easier than explaining standardization through math. Hopefully I am able to apply the skills I learned from this course towards other projects!
