I am interested in theoretical research on biophysics, soft matter and fluid mechanics. Currently I am working with Francis Corson and Vincent Hakim on developmental biology and morphogenesis.
I obtained my Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics in University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, supervised by Prof. James Feng. I completed my undergraduate training in the Department of Mechanics in Peking University, Beijing, China.
In the past, I have worked on the following research topics:
- Interfacial dynamics of complex fluids, including ferrofluid and liquid crystals.
- Elastohydrodynamic lubrication problems in microtextured bearings.
- Modelling and machine learning controllers for quasi-passive dynamic walking robots.
My collaborators include Loic Le Goff and Angughali Sumi (Institut Fresnel), Shahriar Afkhami (NJIT Math), Ching-Yao Chen (NCTU Mech Eng), and Jean-Christophe Loudet (U of Bordeaux Physics).
