Est. 1995
I hail from the grand metropolis of Welland, Ontario. Home of such notable landmarks as MT Bellies and the Main Street Bridge, this is where I came to be the scholar that I am today. However, while the spirit of the Welland Canal shaped my beginnings, it couldn’t hold me in for long. I graduated from Welland Centennial Secondary School in 2013 and did the impossible when I managed to flee from my hometown in September of that year, moving to Waterloo to pursue post-secondary education.
I obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies in June 2017 from Wilfrid Laurier University.
In September 2018, I began graduate studies at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan campus) doing an MSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Jason Pither. I am currently in the process of finalizing my research topic and am planning to begin my field research in the spring.
Believe it or not, I do have a life outside of school. When I’m not on the verge of a mental breakdown, I like to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer. My love of the outdoors is a major part of why I chose to move out to British Columbia, as some of my favourite activities include hiking, cycling and skiing! While I also enjoy a good game of beach volleyball, don’t expect to win if I’m on your team. As far as talents go, although I have too many to count, perhaps my most notable involve my ability to perform. I was heavily involved in musical theatre (and vocal and dramatic productions) through my high school and undergraduate years. I also recently made my film debut as an extra in a questionably-written teen ghost movie filmed in Kelowna, so expect to see me in the tabloids! My most renowned talent has to be my freestyle dancing, however. Check out the video below to see my skills! (Maybe I should do a Master’s in rad moves!)
