Final Project

Robots VS. AI Final Unit Project

Group Work: 3-4 people maximum

1. Make a Movie
Make a documentary/mockumentary about technology that you encounter everyday. For the movie you will need a focus for your study, a script, 2 movie posters, and of course your edited work. Some possible subjects: cellphones, personal computers, artificial limbs, household robots, Internet use, or any other technology you see.
Before you start your film you must submit your script to me for approval before filming, and get a signature allowing you to use anyone you film in your project.

1.a. In the spirit of Science Fiction movies, create a 15min movie about Robots either as helpers or as villains. For the movie you will need: a script, a movie poster and have your edited work ready for the big premiere. Some possible ideas could be: cyborgs, humanoids, Androids, Artificial intelligence run a muck or what ever you want. Before you start your film you must submit your script to me for approval before filming, and get a signature allowing you to use anyone you film in your project.

2. Make a Class Presentation
Choose some type of technology that you use daily and look at the short but complicated history of the devices that rule our world. Create a visual aid and prepare a 10-minute presentation with some sort of activity to show your technology in use. Some Questions to help you during your research:
1. How is this technology used? Or how should it be used?
2. Who makes it? Where is it made?
3. Why was this technology created? (Think about the “target audience”)
4. How could this technology be improved?

2a. Design some new form of technology to improve the world. Start off by doing some research on what people buy, want or need. Then design your technology (you do not have to physical create it, but a visual form would be the best). Then create a 10-minute pitch to a group of investors. Things to consider:
1. What are you trying to use the technology for?
2. What does the tech do?
3. How much will it cost? Or is it free?
4. What data do you have to prove people will use your tech?

Individual:

3. Answer this question: How does Technology affect the world around us?
You can make a presentation, movie, slideshow, puppet theatre or what ever makes you excited about your learning. You must first talk with your teacher about what you would like to do, and what help you will need.
