Annie Korajian:
Hello! My name is Ms. Korajian and I am a teacher candidate from UBC. I am so excited to be doing my practicum with Division 5 at Westview Elementary School, and it has been such a pleasure getting to know all the students and staff. In my free time I am usually out exploring different hiking trails, walking the seawall, or spending time with my family.
Most of my teaching experience has been with children with Special Needs, in particular children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
A large portion of my teaching philosophy revolves around Aboriginal Education and repatriation. Therefore, my question of inquiry throughout my studies is: How can decolonization of the Western education systems play a role in supporting the Aboriginal learner?
