Culminating Activities: Creative Writing
Due Friday in class.
Please write in pen and double space your work.
- Be sure to carefully plan out your work before starting to write, and also ensure you revise and proofread.
- Your writing should be about two pages (one sheet, double sided). Maximum four pages (two sheets, double sided).
Pick one of the following prompts.
- Pretend you are the mother in the story. Write a letter to your daughter (the protagonist) to try to explain why you stole the Persian carpet and to ask for forgiveness. Be persuasive and realistic.
- Write a short story about a betrayal. This can be based on your own experiences or it can be fictional. You can take any perspective: the betrayer, the betrayed, or even a third party. Regardless, try to convey the emotions and thoughts associated with betrayal.
- Write about a place or possession that was a meaningful part of your childhood. Describe it in detail and why you feel it was/is important to you. Describe how you would react if you found out someone had taken it away.
