In case you missed the class today this is what we worked on:
Together we walked through, step by step, how to analize a poem by looking at Billie Holiday’s song “Strange Fruit” (found in your unit poetry booklet).
I gave out a worksheet on poetic analysis for you to use to look at Suzanne Collin’s song “The Hanging Tree” (from The Hunger Games) for homework and try your hand to analyze the text for homework. We will go over this in class tomorrow so if you don’t get to it, don’t freak out.
