I am a fifth year teacher. I teach upper intermediate (grade 6/7). In my spare time I am either reading a book or outside amidst the trees with my dog Jasper.
I would like to acknowledge that I have been fortunate to be born and currently live, work, and enjoy my time on the traditional and unceded territory of the Katzie, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and other Coast Salish Peoples. I feel honoured and privileged to seek out and learn about the vast and rich history of these lands and beyond.
Through acknowledging these lands as well as working on these lands as an educator every day, I strive to be an ally to Indigenous peoples and communities. I will continue to work hard in educating myself, being accountable for my actions, and empowering my students with essential knowledge by ensuring authentic voices are at the forefront of my teaching practice as well as in my own personal growth and learning.
