Abstract

The Mount Meager Volcanic Complex is an active system which has produced, and continues to produce a wealth of hazards which place important infrastructure and human lives at risk. This report analyzes hazards at Mt. Meager using a Geographic Information System (GIS) as the medium of analysis. Laharz_py, in conjuction with a multi-criteria evaluation model, was used to map lahars, debris flows and rock avalanches. TEPHRA2 and Energy Cone running in the VHUB environment were used to map tephra dispersal, lavas and pyroclastic flows. Several maps were produced delineating areas deemed hazardous for each hazard, and are each concluded with a short discussion of the results.
