In light of the pre-season opener, I’d like to share a link to a NHL commercial a while back, featuring Henrik and Daniel Sedin.
Coming back with an Art Ross trophy, I think that Henrik is sure to be a key player to lead the Vancouver Canucks. I also believe that Daniel, having finished with a career high in points despite having missed a couple of games, will also be contributing toward the success of our city’s hockey club. I also hope that Luongo is doing well, after having resigned as the team captain. I’ve been hearing Vancouverites criticizing him, saying that his 12-year contract wasn’t worth it and it’s a waste of money, and it totally ticks me off. Good job making yourselves look like ignorant bandwagoners! Luongo chose to step down as a captain for the better of the team. Not having to be a captain means he’ll have less pressure on himself, especially when he’s the guy who makes sure the puck doesn’t end up in the net.
With the coming and going of players, this team is going to have to practice hard, work hard and play hard to pull through. Though we’ve had to say goodbye to former Canucks teammates, there are also people filling in their shoes. New comers to the club include Manny Malhotra, Raffi Torres, Keith Ballard, and Dan Hamhuis. I don’t know about you but that sounds like a solid addition.
Long story short, I can see potential in this hockey team (though people have been saying that for the past 40 years) and this year just may be the year where the Vancouver Canucks will make this city proud. Celebrate the Canucks 40th anniversary by bringing home the cup boys!
We are all Canucks!
