{"id":35,"date":"2011-05-29T12:16:56","date_gmt":"2011-05-29T20:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mwong\/?p=35"},"modified":"2011-05-29T12:45:25","modified_gmt":"2011-05-29T20:45:25","slug":"moodle-initial-reflection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/mwong\/2011\/05\/29\/moodle-initial-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Moodle: Initial Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although I am unable to access the e-learning toolkit at the moment, I am able to reflect as a Moodle user on its potential as a successful LMS platform. \u00a0Looking at a sample Moodle page, <a href=\"http:\/\/demo.moodle.net\/course\/view.php?id=596\">Romeo and Juliet Sample Unit<\/a>, I can see how Moodle can be efficiently used in a classroom. \u00a0The site is well-organized, and it shows each section explicitly. \u00a0For example, the <em>Romeo and Juliet <\/em>site has the following sections: Introductory Discussions, Assignments and Handouts, Quizzes, Journals, and Concluding Discussions. \u00a0In each section, there are sub-headings that lead to various links, like PDF files and Word Documents. \u00a0This clear layout will help the user easily find the necessary tools in order to be successful in this course.<\/p>\n<p>A problem that I encountered while using this Moodle site is that the Navigation menu can seem overwhelming with the amount of text. \u00a0As well, another problem is the site seems underdeveloped.
