Flipped Lesson Example

This artifact was from ETEC 510 for the end of course project.  It was my first attempt at flipping a lesson and it truly has put me on a great journey in my educational career.  I took my experiences from creating this and then developed my own means of implementing flipped (and blended) lesson in my classroom (a non immersive ELL evironment).  It was this course that truly made me realize that it isn’t the content of a course but what you do with it.  Theory can be applied after being processed by your own mind and for that I am eternally thankful for the MET program.

Behaviourism in the Classroom

This artifact is from ETEC 512: Application of Learning Theories to Instruction. I would have to admit, this course in general took me from being rather skeptical about learning theories into the acceptance of their importance into classroom instruction. This artifact in particular had me looking at something in my past (gaming) that could be applied to my current employment (teaching). I found it incredibly interesting to look at the basics of Behaviourism and create a real life application that could be used by teachers to increase engagement.
