Alerts and updates on campus closures will be available at\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ubc.ca.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The information below applies to DAP students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How will I know if my classes or exams are cancelled?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always check\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ubc.ca<\/a>\u202ffor the most up-to-date information about campus closures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If BUSI <\/strong><strong><em>classes or&nbsp;midterm&nbsp;exams<\/em> <\/strong><strong>are cancelled:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please&nbsp;monitor&nbsp;your Canvas Announcements and&nbsp;your&nbsp;email&nbsp;for&nbsp;direction&nbsp;from your instructors.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If any <em>final exams <\/em>are cancelled:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Official campus closure notice will be posted&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\">ubc.ca<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UBC Enrolment Services will inform affected students via email and provide directions on the next steps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instructors may also provide&nbsp;additional&nbsp;information via Canvas Announcements and\/or email.\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/students.canvas.ubc.ca\/how-to-personalize-your-notifications-in-canvas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here<\/a>\u202fto learn how to personalize your notifications in Canvas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A campus closure was announced at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\">ubc.ca<\/a> on the day and time of my exam. What should I do?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If <em>classes or&nbsp;midterm&nbsp;exams<\/em> are cancelled:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Confirm&nbsp;closure announcements on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ubc.ca<\/a>, Canvas announcements, and your email.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Note that your instructor may choose to replace your midterm exam with a live online class via Zoom&nbsp;on that day.&nbsp;Check Canvas to confirm.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue preparing for all your exams until you receive updated information about new arrangements and assume that&nbsp;the&nbsp;midterm&nbsp;exams&nbsp;will&nbsp;be rescheduled rather&nbsp;than&nbsp;cancelled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/about-student-services\/centre-for-accessibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centre for Accessibility (CFA)<\/a> clients should discuss\u00a0their\u00a0CFA-approved\u00a0accommodations for the rescheduled\u00a0sitting(s)\u00a0with\u00a0their\u00a0instructor(s).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If any <em>final exams<\/em> are cancelled:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Monitor closure announcements on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ubc.ca<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will receive an email notification if in-person exams are cancelled that will include the general dates for any rescheduled exams. Be sure to check Canvas notifications and your email regularly for the latest updates.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue preparing for all exams until you receive information about the new arrangements.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Review final exam rescheduling policies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Winter Term 1<\/strong>:&nbsp;Examinations will be rescheduled on&nbsp;the Saturday&nbsp;(and, if necessary, the Sunday) following the first full week of classes in Winter Term 2.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter Term 2 and Summer<\/strong>:&nbsp;Examinations will be rescheduled on the day(s) following the last day of the formal final exam period for that term.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The location, time, and date for your rescheduled final exam will be posted at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/exams\/exam-schedule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/exams\/exam-schedule<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students registered with<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/about-student-services\/centre-for-accessibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CFA<\/strong><\/a> who\u00a0require\u00a0exam\u00a0accommodations\u00a0that cannot be provided\u00a0for\u00a0during the rescheduled exam should contact\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mybcom.sauder.ubc.ca\/osas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OSAS<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"mailto:bcomquestions@sauder.ubc.ca\">askdap@sauder.ubc.ca<\/a>)\u00a0to\u00a0discuss\u00a0their\u00a0case.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What do I do if&nbsp;there is a conflict with my&nbsp;rescheduled exam?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There may be situations in which a rescheduled exam conflicts with another course or&nbsp;pre-existing commitment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For in-term evaluations\/midterms<\/strong>:&nbsp;Unless you have been given different instructions on who to contact, the expectation is that you&nbsp;will contact&nbsp;the course instructor directly to understand&nbsp;how this will be resolved.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For rescheduled\u00a0BUSI\u00a0final\u00a0exams<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mybcom.sauder.ubc.ca\/osas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OSAS<\/a>\u00a0will send a survey to students who have\u00a0indicated\u00a0that they are not able to sit the rescheduled exam\u00a0as planned\u00a0and\u00a0determine\u00a0if they eligible to write the exam at\u00a0an alternate\u00a0time.\u00a0Your instructor may post an announcement on Canvas informing you about this survey.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOTE<\/strong>:&nbsp;The survey link will&nbsp;only be available via&nbsp;Canvas Announcement or sent to you via&nbsp;email. This&nbsp;survey&nbsp;will&nbsp;not be&nbsp;published&nbsp;elsewhere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For rescheduled final exams,\u00a0the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/about-student-services\/centre-for-accessibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CFA<\/a>\u202fwill provide support to eligible students\u00a0with approved exam accommodations.\u00a0You must be a registered client of <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/about-student-services\/centre-for-accessibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CFA<\/a> to receive this support.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Other Considerations&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NON-BUSI courses:&nbsp;Note that&nbsp;faculties and their affiliated courses may approach&nbsp;how to address&nbsp;campus closures differently.&nbsp;Please&nbsp;be sure to&nbsp;follow any instructions provided by your&nbsp;course&nbsp;instructor&nbsp;as courses&nbsp;may have&nbsp;their&nbsp;own specific set of instructions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the event of a campus closure, some\u00a0NON-BUSI in-person exams may be moved to an online, remote format.\u00a0If this shift\u00a0in format presents a challenge for you, contact your instructor and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/\">Office of Student Academic Services<\/a> (OSAS).\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If&nbsp;extenuating circumstances&nbsp;UNRELATED&nbsp;to the campus closure&nbsp;prevent&nbsp;you from writing an exam or attending a class&nbsp;as scheduled, please review the&nbsp;information&nbsp;on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/responsibilities\/?preview_id=783&amp;preview_nonce=1c9e511786&amp;preview=true#section-1\">academic concessions<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;determine&nbsp;whether your situation&nbsp;warrants&nbsp;submitting a petition for academic concessions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For students who\u00a0already\u00a0have an approved academic concession for the originally scheduled exam: if you wish to attend the rescheduled exam rather than write during the official SD period, you must inform your instructor and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/\">OSAS <\/a>to ensure that an exam will be available for you.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please note that during&nbsp;a campus&nbsp;closure, the University&nbsp;remains&nbsp;open in principle, but some services may be limited in response to the conditions. We appreciate your patience and hope you stay safe and healthy.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Please note that once you have started an exam, the grade you earn will stand.
