Please review the section below that applies to the term in which you are taking courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements Starting 2025 Winter Term and Beyond<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students whose performance in the Faculty is unsatisfactory will be required to withdraw from the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Student performance is considered unsatisfactory when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A student achieves an <strong>average of less than 55%<\/strong> in the academic session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A student <strong>fails a required course<\/strong> for the Diploma in Accounting program for a <strong>second time<\/strong>. Students who need to retake a required course for a <strong>third time<\/strong> must appeal to the Director or designate for permission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A student <strong>fails any three courses<\/strong> in the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students who were permitted to attempt a course for a <strong>third time on appeal<\/strong>, following two previous failed attempts, and who <strong>fail the course for a third time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, the academic standing of a student is determined when the student\u2019s grades have become official for the completed academic session.&nbsp;If you are concerned about your academic progress, please arrange an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/#advising-appt\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/#advising-appt\">advising appointment<\/a> to discuss your performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who are required to withdraw from the program due to unsatisfactory academic standing are eligible to apply for re-admission after 1 year. Re-admission is not guaranteed but if given, academic conditions may be placed on a student at the discretion of the DAP office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Requirements in Effect Until the End of the 2025 Summer Term<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible to continue in the program from term to term. Formal academic standing reviews are completed at the end of each academic session based on the grades earned between Winter Terms 1 and 2 for the Winter session and between Summer Terms 1 and 2 for the Summer session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A failed academic session is defined by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A course load of 9 credits or greater is taken and the student&#8217;s average in those courses is less than 50%; <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A course load of 15 credits or greater is taken and the student fails three or more courses; <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A course load of less than 15 credits is taken and the student fails two or more courses; <strong>OR<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A course, required for completion of DAP, is failed for a second time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, the academic standing of a student is determined when the student\u2019s grades have become official for the completed academic session.&nbsp;If you are concerned about your academic progress, please arrange an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/#advising-appt\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/myubcdap\/success\/program-advising\/#advising-appt\">advising appointment<\/a> to discuss your performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who are required to withdraw from the program due to unsatisfactory academic standing are eligible to apply for re-admission after 1 year.
