PASSION:
Truth be told, anything I do, or become a part of, is my passion. I find it very difficult to not give my all to everything I do. For example, if I go in to work at Walmart and I have to count the money in a cash register and I find the amount in the register is not what it should be, I will not be satisfied until I can figure out why the count is off. However, if I had to choose, I would say I have two main passions. Firstly, being a ‘peoples-person,’ spending time with my family and friends is my passion. To me it does not matter what we are doing, where we are or when, but I love to be around those that I love. I would much rather spend a day at home, sitting around with my mom just simply talking about little things than be doing something by myself. It is also my passion to learn because I feel as you learn the littlest things, you grow as a person in numerous manners. And this growth as a person is very rewarding because every time you learn something new, you realize just how much capacity you have for knowledge and how much your potential as a person increases every time you gain new knowledge. For me learning has two different meanings. First, I love to learn new facts or ways of doing things; for example, different cultures’ ways of doing routine life tasks. However, I also love learning life lessons, realizations that I will hold forever. And sometimes these come about by first making mistakes and then learning the right answer or way of doing something. For example, the realization I had with the aid of my teacher about the importance of education. In the end, I believe that if I display a passion for teaching, this will motivate students to also take a passionate approach to learning. That being said, students are our number one priority and if we can inspire passion in them – specifically for learning – I truly believe we have accomplished a great deal!
