{"id":1,"date":"2015-05-18T04:44:12","date_gmt":"2015-05-18T04:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/nayloretec565a\/?p=1"},"modified":"2015-05-18T13:11:59","modified_gmt":"2015-05-18T20:11:59","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/nayloretec565a\/2015\/05\/18\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Hello ETEC 565 Colleagues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Hello fellow ETEC 565 colleagues,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>My Name is Grant Naylor\u00a0and I live in Kamloops, British Columbia, about a three and a half hour drive northeast of Vancouver. \u00a0I am currently working as a grade 7 teacher at one of the local elementary schools. \u00a0My wife and I (who is also a teacher) have three children ranging in age from 13 to 3. \u00a0They keep us very busy. \u00a0I have been teaching for almost ten years now and this is my fourth course in the MET program. \u00a0Previously, I have taken ETEC 500, 510, &amp; 532. \u00a0Currently, my school district is overhauling their outlook and moving towards a technology driven model of 21st century\/inquiry based learning. \u00a0My school is very progressive and had a really strong administrator who has made available many platforms, affordances, and opportunities to improve upon best practice. \u00a0At the moment, I am also currently applying for our school districts Leadership and Development Program which is a two year program that trains both educational leaders in leadership positions and administrators.
