Georges St. Pierre: Life after the UFC

With possible retirement rumours surrounding George St-Pierre, a mixed martial arts legend and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welter weight champion, the UFC may need to find a new star to replace arguably the most popular and profitable fighter in UFC history. St-Pierre has generated a minimum $5 million payday per fight through PPV revenue on top of bonuses for winning the fight, making him the best paid UFC star in history.

However, St-Pierre is carving out a brand for himself, or what could be called a plan for “life after fighting” through numerous endorsements from Under Armour, Coca-Cola, Electronic Arts, Bacardi, and many more partners. Furthermore, St-Pierre is also expanding his brand by releasing his book which covers his life story and training methods.

More importantly, St-Pierre is preparing to star in the film “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as the villain, Batroc the Leader. This path of starring in new territory has been proven to be successful as former WWE star Dwayne Johnson carved out an impressive role in the film industry. Unlike other fighters, St-Pierre has carved out a new path for him that will prove to be far less dangerous to his body and could prove to be more profitable than fighting in the UFC.
