Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n For this task, I wanted to create something practical and engaging for my students in my role as a Technology Learning Coach. A major focus of my work recently has been helping students leverage AI effectively to enhance their learning. I saw this as an opportunity to develop a useful tool that would actively engage students in learning how to use AI both ethically and responsibly.<\/span><\/p>\n Over the last year, I have been developing AI Guidelines and Policy documents for my school. These resources are available on our school\u2019s website here:<\/span> YIS AI in the Classroom<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n With the help of ChatGPT, I have created a Twine-based interactive experience that takes students through a series of real-life, school-based AI use scenarios. In each scenario, students must make a choice\u2014some decisions may be obvious, while others require deeper reflection. The goal is for students to identify and select the most ethical and responsible AI practices in their learning.<\/span><\/p>\n Designing the Twine experience was both enjoyable and thought-provoking. It required me to carefully craft the scenarios, develop meaningful response options, and make formatting choices to ensure clarity and ease of use. One frustration was that I was unable to embed images directly into Twine\u2014I would have liked to include more visual examples. Additionally, I struggled to integrate the Twine seamlessly into my blog without requiring users to download a separate file.<\/span><\/p>\n Overall, Twine has proven to be an excellent tool that highlights the power of hyperlinked storytelling and reflects key principles of the Xanadu Project, which recognized that human thinking is non-linear and benefits from interactive, interconnected pathways beyond traditional text-based learning.<\/span><\/p>\n
