Biography

Hello!

My name is Nick Bell and I am in my fourth year of the General Science program at the University of British Columbia. I transferred to UBC to finish the second half of my Bachelor of Science degree after beginning it at Vancouver Island University. I have a keen interest in anatomy, physiology and biology and have therefore centered the courses in my degree around these subjects. My future goal is to become a physician. Although this course may not seem directly related to my future plans, I believe that in a society like today’s where we are increasingly reliant on technology and the internet for business and communication that a course such as English 301 will be vital in any career path. Also, I believe that it is now very important for people to establish a personal “brand” online to help promote yourself and the services that you hope to provide. I grew up in the small town of Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island but have been enjoying everything about life in Vancouver since moving here two years ago with my girlfriend, Laura. I played a wide variety of sports growing up and I still enjoy being active. The nearby mountains, bodies of water and trails are very conducive to this. The seawall and Stanley Park are two of my favorite areas to go for a run or ride my bike. I am also an avid sports fan (Canucks) and when I’m not busy I like to watch hockey, football, baseball and basketball on TV. Another wonderful thing about the city of Vancouver is the eclectic mix of cuisine! I suppose I could be classified as a “foodie” because I am thrilled with always being able to try something from a different part of the world or just something that is completely unconventional. I hope you enjoy my blog!
