The 3 C’s of Media Convergence
Understanding media convergence as a “new foundation” of educational technology means looking at interdisciplinarity, multimodality, and multi-sensoriality, at how all these things come together and what is produced (MET 511, 2021). By definition, media is the means of mass communication, such as broadcasting, publishing, and the internet (Media, n.d.). Communication is information exchanged between individuals to form a connection or build rapport. A community is a group of connected people, whether by marriage, kinship, or common interest (Connection, n.d.).
Mind Map Maniac
This sets the stage for how I have developed my media convergence mind map (follow the link to view). I believe that communication leads to a connection which builds community, or vice versa.
