“A picture is worth a thousand words” is an adage meaning that complex and sometimes multiple ideas can be conveyed by a single still image more effectively than a mere verbal description (“A picture,” 2022). Text, to me, is a form of communication, a way to share ideas. Communication can occur via hand gestures, facial expressions, speaking or singing, reading, writing, and imagery (hieroglyphics, drawing, photography, movies/video etc.).

Technology is the method of communication. Today it primarily means electronic devices such as smartphones and computers. Still, it can be expanded to include any method of communicating, such as books, magazines, televisions, photographs, or other works of art. If we look at history, technology would have also included tablets, cave walls, or textiles that text was scribed onto to be shared with others.
