I conducted a study between four different classification methods for displaying Housing Affordability in Vancouver. It is the default in GIS.<\/p>\n<p>For equal intervals, it is splitting the dataset into 5 equal portions. While this might be useful if there is a normal distribution of data, it wasn&#8217;t suitable for looking at housing affordability in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>For standard deviation, it shows how far each census tracts deviate from the main concentration of data. I don&#8217;t think this is appropriate for this analysis because it does not clearly communicate the price of housing to buyers.<\/p>\n<p>I believe the manual breaks display is most appropriate.
