I am pursuing a bachelor of arts degree with a major in geography, in the environment and sustainability program. When people ask me why I’ve chosen to study geography, I tell them simply, “geography is everything.” Learning about the world from a geographical perspective makes me reconsider so many aspects of life that I have overlooked, and forces me to examine issues in global terms. I am constantly reminded that everything is related to everything else. I think it is fundamental that we question why things are the way they are and how things came to be, and geography encourages me to ask those questions.
