Right now she is working on the two different ways that you can ask yes\/no questions like \u2018Is it raining?\u2019 The two ways are used in slightly different types of contexts, depending on whether the asker thinks the answerer is going to answer \u2018yes\u2019. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

I'm a Ph.D candidate working on the semantics of temporal interpretation (including the question of whether n\u026ce\u0294kepmxc\u00edn is a tensed or a tenseless language, as well as the semantics of aspectual auxiliaries and clitics), and on the temporal semantics of clausal co-ordination. I examine how times are tracked in n\u026ce\u0294kepmxc\u00edn stories and conversation (both of which feature a lot of co-ordination!).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nMA graduate<\/td>		Gazelle is interested in describing and documenting aspects related to sounds and sound patterns. She hopes to contribute to creating descriptions and pronunciation guides for learners.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nPhD student<\/td>		Noah is a PhD student studying phonetics. He is originally from Michigan. He is interested in understanding the glottal sound patterns in N\u026ce\u0294kepmxc\u00edn, especially associated with diminutive reduplication, i.e., words for \"little\" things which involve internal copying.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nPhD student<\/td>		Sander works on documentation and analysis of the grammatical structure and meaning of aspectual marking of verbs -- i.e., marking that indicates the time span of a verb.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nSimon Fraser University (SFU)<\/td>		Danica is a PhD student at Simon Fraser University. She is interested in all aspects of the sound system of n\u026ce\u0294kepmxc\u00edn from the ways individual sounds are produced to the ways they pattern together. Her work currently focuses on the system of aspiration, the patterning of ejectives and glottalized resonants, and the structure of the syllable in n\u026ce\u0294kepmxc\u00edn. She is also interested in the recording methods we use in n\u026cab and how Zoom audio recordings differ from recordings we collect in-person.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
