Some questions I have:
1) How much extrinsic motivation is appropriate? We want students to become intrinsically motivated, but we also want to praise them for their hard work. Where is that fine-line?
2) How do teachers cope with students who have extreme cases of conduct disorder? I am eager to learn the techniques involved in helping these students succeed to their fullest.
Great questions Carolyn. If chosen for your inquiry either of them will provide you with valuable information for your future teaching career.
Your reflection is very thorough and the strategies you noted and used to support students with behavioural difficulties were appropriate and will be very helpful for you during your practicum. You are so right when it comes to the need to build relationships first with struggling students and help them to develop a sense of trust.
