The research showed that Americans save more than $1 per gallon compared with the gas price last year. However, retailers still gives discount for consumers who purchased by using app.  The retailers figured out that if consumers use their company’s own app to purchase, it will increase the brand loyalty. Many retailers find it successful with their own apps, an excellent example is that” The coffee giant’s mobile app represents 20 percent of transactions in U.S. stores, more than double what it was two years ago. ”

Cumberland Farms, a chain of convenience stores offered $10 discount on each gallon consumers buy, The consumers will also get free coupon for a free drink at a Cumberland Farms convenience store if they purchase more than 30 gallon of gas. This action will also gain the loyalty for the company.

As more and more people started to use the app in Cumberland Farms, it is planned to  start a business in the app which is to let consumers preorder food online, then when the consumers come, it will bring the food immediately without waiting. It will improve the effciency for not only the consumers but the producers. Moreover, it will also drive more gas guzzlers into its convenience stores which raises its market shares
