More and more companies are concerning about the social issues like poverty, and they use market strategy like one for one business model in order to help the poor people. Tom shoes is one of the companies who uses one for one business model. It means that each pairs of shoes that consumers bought from Toms, the company will give away a free pair of shoes to the people who needs it but cannot afford it.
After reading the articles about the social impact of tom’s market strategy, I believe that one to one business is not very useful for helping the poor people in the long run. Even though the it will increase some people’s quality of life in the short run, it will also make countries and people rely on the services. Moreover, it will ruin the local economy as well. Who will pay for it if it is free? Consumers in the poor area will just wait for the free shoes instead of going to the local shops to purchase shoes. In this way, one to one strategy will harm the local shoes market, which causes economic problems in the long run.
