Pertenece a la naci\u00f3n mapuche. Su obra ha recibido numerosas distinciones y ha sido recopilada en diversas antolog\u00edas, por ser uno de los poetas Mapuche-Huilliche, m\u00e1s relevantes de la d\u00e9cada de los noventa. En 1996 y 1997 obtuvo financiamiento del Fondo de desarrollo de las Artes y la Cultura (Fondart) para su proyecto de escritura,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ceremonias<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ha sido profesor de literatura en varias universidades chilenas, entre ellas la Universidad Diego Portales y la Universidad Alberto Hurtado. Ha sido invitado a numerosos eventos literarios internacionales en Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Espa\u00f1a, Australia, Colombia y Argentina. Su poes\u00eda ha sido traducida al mapudungun, ingl\u00e9s, italiano, alem\u00e1n, franc\u00e9s, holand\u00e9s, portugu\u00e9s y catal\u00e1n<\/span><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde su primer libro,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ceremonias<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(1999), hasta la fecha, su obra se ha caracterizado por problematizar sobre la identidad de sujetos fracturados, reducidos y marginados por la cultura oficial, en un gesto altamente pol\u00edtico. Entre sus libros destacan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ceremonias<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1999), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Puerto Trakl<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2001), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reducciones<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2012), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fanon City Meu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2014) y <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La calle Maldestam y otros territorios ap\u00f3crifos<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2016). Ha recibido numerosos galardones, entre ellos el Premio Pablo Neruda (2003), una beca Guggenheim (2005) y el Premio a la Mejor Obra Literaria 2013 del Consejo Nacional de las Artes y la Cultura de Chile por Reducciones. Tambi\u00e9n ha editado varias antolog\u00edas de poes\u00eda ind\u00edgena mapuche y latinoamericana, entre ellas <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Epu mari \u00fclkatufe ta fachant\u00fc: 20 poetas mapuche contempor\u00e1neos<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2003), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los Cantos Ocultos: Antolog\u00eda de poes\u00eda ind\u00edgena latinoamericana<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2008), y <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poes\u00eda de la Tierra: Antolog\u00eda triling\u00fce mapuche<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2013). Su poes\u00eda fue presentada por primera vez a los lectores de lengua inglesa en <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00dcL: Four Mapuche Poets<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1998), de Cecilia Vicu\u00f1a, y posteriormente en el libro completo <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Port Trakl<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2008), traducido por Daniel Borzutzky.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"post-excerpt\">Jaime Luis Huen\u00fan\u00a0naci\u00f3 en Valdivia, Chile, en 1967.
