This piece was created during early November of 2017 using the program Clip Studio Paint. Drawing has always been a great passion and hobby of mine, and I find that it is a great way for me to express myself. I find this piece to be of great significance because it is done differently in many ways in comparison to my previous works. My past creations are often done through traditional mediums, such as pen and paper, and are focused on realistic or animated human subjects. This piece marks the beginning of a journey of new digital mediums, and of more abstract and modern concepts.
My creative works have proven helpful in many aspects of my life. Being skilled in visual arts design has allowed me to create promotional posters for events that I have helped coordinate or have volunteered for. My most recent tutoring experience has also given me the insight that many retain information or knowledge better with it is presented in a creative manner, which is the source of inspiration for a future comic project.
Preliminary Plan
An ePortfolio can function as a blog, but also allow one to share extra information about themselves. Blogs are often used only to share personal ideas, and at times are informal or written in a casual manner. An ePortfolio, however, could be used not only as a blog but more. There are a variety of functions for the ePortfolio, such as sharing ideas, personal experience, achievements, personal strengths, and possibly as a detailed online resume. A well-created ePortfolio should contain a title, a short introduction of what the ePortfolio is going to be about, an introduction page about the author, and good content. The author is recommended to introduce their majors and minors, their academic achievements or what they are hoping to achieve, their completed research(es) and ongoing works or studies. Including other things such as the author’s skills and extracurriculars is also recommended.
I believe the ePortfolio will come in handy in a variety of places in my future. There are many ways to customize the site which can tell my audience a lot about me. I think the ePortfolio will be great for tracking my ideas, thoughts, and works for sharing. It would be very convenient and helpful to have an easily accessible site which I can show to my future mentors and potential employers to help them know me, my skills, my achievements, and my works better. The ePortfolio can also allow my peers to critique and comment on my works and ideas which may offer helpful insights to how I can improve.
