What does it involve:<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\nYou can participate in this study if you are an 2SLGBTQI+ individual aged 50 years or older <\/strong><\/span>living in Canada.<\/strong> Because the daily questionnaires are completed using a computer, you need to <\/span>be able to have access to a computer, internet, and to read newspaper size print. <\/span><\/p>\nShould you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a 45-minute online <\/span>questionnaire asking questions about your background, personality, social relationships, beliefs, <\/span>and wellbeing. Then, for 2 weeks, we will ask you to complete a 20-minute questionnaire in the <\/span>evening. These evening questionnaires will ask you questions about your current context, your <\/span>thoughts and how you are feeling, your everyday activities and social interactions. <\/span><\/p>\nA final <\/span>feedback questionnaire of 10 minutes will ask about your experience in the study. You can <\/span>choose to receive reminders via email or text. All components of the study are entirely optional <\/span>and you can discontinue the study at any time.<\/span><\/p>\nHow will my personal information and data be protected?<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n- The identity of subjects will be protected with the use of a unique study code. <\/span>The unique study code will not be derived from personal identifiers such as SIN, <\/span>DOB, PHN, or initials. Research-related documents will not include information that <\/span>would allow the subject to be identified. Any information which correlate subject <\/span>names with the study code will be kept on the locked premises at the University of <\/span>British Columbia, or in a secured electronic form.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Any identifying information will be password protected and encrypted and kept <\/span>separate from the actual data collected in this study, and all study materials will only <\/span>be labeled with participant identification numbers. Participant consent forms and <\/span>contact information will be stored separately from study data. All devices containing personal information about an identifiable individual collected for research purposes <\/span>will be encrypted.<\/span><\/li>\n
- In line with open access requirements, data will be made available electronically for <\/span>future use in a way that protects participants\u2019 identity. Data will be uploaded to an <\/span>online archive in the form of a computer software file (e.g. SPSS), and these files are <\/span>stripped of information that could identify participants (personal identifiers such as <\/span>SIN, DOB, PHN, or initials) to ensure confidentiality.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
