Persian buildings vary from <a title=\"Peasant\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peasant\">peasant<\/a> <a title=\"Hut\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hut\">huts<\/a> to <a title=\"Tea house\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tea_house\">tea houses<\/a>, and <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Persian garden\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Persian_garden\">garden<\/a> <a title=\"Pavilion (structure)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pavilion_%28structure%29\">pavilions<\/a> to &#8220;some of the most majestic structures the world has ever seen&#8221;.<sup id=\"cite_ref-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iranian_architecture#cite_note-0\"><span>[<\/span>1<span>]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Iranian architecture displays great variety, both structural and aesthetic, developing gradually and coherently out of prior traditions and experience. Without sudden innovations, and despite the repeated trauma of invasions and cultural shocks, it has achieved &#8220;an individuality distinct from that of other Muslim countries&#8221;.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iranian_architecture#cite_note-1\"><span>[<\/span>2<span>]<\/span><\/a><\/sup> Its paramount virtues are several: &#8220;a marked feeling for form and scale; structural inventiveness, especially in <a title=\"Vault (architecture)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vault_%28architecture%29\">vault<\/a> and <a title=\"Gonbad\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gonbad\">dome<\/a> construction; a genius for decoration with a freedom and success not rivaled in any other architecture&#8221;.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iranian_architecture#cite_note-2\"><span>[<\/span>3<span>]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"image\" title=\"Naqshe Jahan square in Isfahan is the epitome of 16th century Iranian architecture.
