- Evergreen perennial
- Native to the Pacific coasts of North and South America, including BC
- Attractive, glossy, dark green trifoliate leaves.
- Simple, white, five-petal flowers. Plant is dioecious, so strawberries will only be produced if you have both male and female plants.
- Low maintenance if contained. May spread aggressively in favourable conditions.
- Somewhat drought tolerant. Great choice for sandy, infertile soils. Full sun to part shade.
- Works well as a groundcover, or edging along a path. Also suitable for a container. Best suited as a landscape strawberry, other species are better for an edible garden.
