- Forms large colonies by self-seeding and rhizomes.
- Colonies develop a canopy of large palmate leaves 30-50 cm off the ground, with flower stems extending and additional 30-50 cm above the canopy. Upper portion of the plants remains open, showcasing attractive pink-white five-petal flowers and large round buds.
- Usually begins flowering in August, but earlier blooming cultivars are available.
- Very low maintenance, though can be aggressive. Full sun to part shade. Well drained soil, medium moisture.
- Excellent for a large space, as plant spreads very well. Massing or late summer border. Suits a woodland or cottage garden.
