- Dense, but somewhat messy shrub. Up to 2 m high in Vancouver if uncontrolled. Pinnately compound leaves.
- Drooping clusters of pink pea-flowers
- Another indigo species, Indigofera tinctoria, is used to produce indigo dye.
- Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soil and medium moisture.
- Works well in a mixed border or a naturalized planting. Good summer-flowering space filler.
