Together with academic or scientific journals, conferences provide an important channel for exchange of information between researchers. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<pre style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><span style=\"color: #8f6ca8;\">Basically, it\u2019s a meeting to present your work!<\/span> <\/b><\/pre>\n<p><b>What are the different kinds of conferences and examples? <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Local conferences: e.g., UBC Conferences, The F-Word Conferences held by GRSJ, Arts Undergraduate Conferences, \u00a0\u00a0Multi-Disciplinary Undergraduate Research Conference&#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regional conferences: e.g., \u00a0PSA (Pacific Sociological Associations)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: inherit;\">National conferences: e.g., CSA (Canadian Sociological Association) ASA (American Sociological \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Association) ISA (International Sociological Association)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #8f6ca8;\"><b>You should definitely apply to the LOCAL conferences because they are organized particularly for YOU!
