In June 2016, the government of PEI launched their new open data portal which has proven useful for collecting much of the data used in this project. The reliability of the data appears reasonable, it is from a reputable source and the metadata is consistent indicating a good database management.
Data downloaded:
- Buildings
- Roads
- PEI coastline
- Emergency service zones
- Community polygons
- Digital Elevation Model
I would also like to thank UPEI’s Climate Research Lab for providing a sample of their data on coastline erosion allowing me to compare my storm surge predictions to a more substantial estimate of future Island coastline vulnerability. Thanks also for answering my questions throughout the project.
