I created this site as an assignment submission for my class APBI 315: Animal Welfare and the Ethics of Animal Use, for which I am to present on a topic relevant to animal welfare. On this site I will provide information on\u00a0the ethical debates surrounding\u00a0the practice of spaying\/neutering pets. Then, I will go into\u00a0a more detailed discussion of the application of sterilizing dogs and cats\u00a0in preventing and managing\u00a0feral populations worldwide, as well as highlight some alternatives. This is a subject I am quite passionate about because of my past experience working in spay and neuter clinics in the United States. These positions\u00a0gave me the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact people can have on animals&#8217; lives by neglecting to sterilize them.
