It also aims to contribute to the strengthening of the Filipino Community in Canada. Finally, it wishes to help sustain a Vancouver-based network of scholars\u00a0and community members interested in research on Philippine topics.The Philippine Studies Series is being funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligi.ubc.ca\/\">Liu Institute for Global Issues<\/a> at\u00a0the University of British Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>The Philippine Studies Series (PSS) has been active since February 2011, hosting art exhibits, film screenings, workshops and more. Check our recent posts on the right to see upcoming events. New participants are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteer opportunities are available and you don&#8217;t need to be affiliated with UBC to join.
