I was a teacher in Yang chun walfare center for the disabled. I met lots of disabled people at there. I didn’t have some experiences about disabled people until work on this center. So that was the first time I saw disabled people directly and closely. I was very shocked about their appearence because some of them didn’t have arms or legs, and even they have theirs, they can’t usre them because of disabled. So they crept out for welcome. I felt really unfamiliar with that atmosphere and start to worry about my work in the center.
But few days after, everything changed. I realized nothing is deffernet. It was same. Really, it was same me and them. I saw that they like to play not study like me, like to eat delicious food, want to wear a beautiful neckless and clothes, and love movie stars. It was, really same how I feel the world. There are nothing different with me and them. We are the same people who lives in the world. Just, they can’t use their some part of body and I realize it isn’t matter. We can talk, share the information together and love same people, play together.
So I want to tell you, who read this post, “Don’t think disabled people different.” They are part of our society too. People think about disabled peoole are away from their life. They think there are a huge gap between disabled people and them. No. There are nothing. We are the world. I felt that truth deeply in my work experience at Walfare center for disabled.
