Podcasters Across Borders was Canada’s first podcasting conference.
The brainchild of Bob Goyetche and Mark Blevis, “PAB” was held on June 23-24, 2006, in Kingston, Ontario.
Bob and Mark tell the story of how the conference came to be:
Over 80 people, podcast producers and listeners, from Canada, the United Stated and abroad, attended Podcasters Across Borders 2006.
The inaugural keynote address, entitled “Building the Perfect Host: Developing Your Voice and Style” was delivered by Shelagh Rogers.
Seven other presentations and a panel discussion were given by Julien Smith, Cathi Bond and Nora Young, Bob Goyetche, Leesa Barnes, Mark Blevis, and Bruce Murray.
Media coverage included spots in local Kingston media, on CBC Radio and an article in The Ottawa Citizen.
Now PAB is an annual event attracting around 150 attendees each year.
Podcasters Across Borders 2010 is scheduled to take place in Ottawa, Ontario, at the National Arts Centre’s Fourth Stage from June 18-20.
