I was born and raised on Vancouver Island where I developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age. Growing up in close proximity to the forest industry, I was eager to pursue forestry studies, first at Vancouver Island University before transferring to the Forestry faculty at UBC.  I am currently a fourth year student taking a major in Forest Operations and will graduate in the spring of 2016.  I have worked for Island Timberlands (the second largest private land holder on Vancouver Island) for the last three summers.  During my employment, I have gained experience in many different facets of the industry from engineering, post-harvest activities, and working with GIS, to public relations and working alongside First Nations to improve social sustainability.  Following graduation I plan on pursuing registration with the ABCFP as a Registered Professional Forester and a career in forest operation planning on the coast. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, and exploring the island I call home.
