In this blog, I will be doing a final reflection on everything learned throughout this course.
I would like to begin by mentioning how useful and applicable the skills gained in this course are going to be to my future goals. Not only have a been able to further enhance my existing writing skills, but I have also been able to acquire knowledge about how to effectively pursue my goals through proficient writing. I’m excited and intrigued to see how these abilities help me in the future.
I believe my greatest strengths are my work ethic and integrity towards the course I am taking. A huge part of my personality is being a planner and therefore I am naturally dedicated to committing enough time towards the task assigned. In my first reflection blog, I mentioned how I often have difficulty quickly putting into words what I am thinking and take too much time planning than actually writing. By combining my strength and the tasks of this course, I was definitely able to overcome most of this difficulty and I am thankful for it. The instructions of each assignment were clear and allowed me to think critically in a timely manner leading to effective productions of writing. The peer-review assignments were also great assets as they allowed me to receive useful feedback and apply it to achieve the results I wanted.
One of my weaknesses while writing include not being consistent in avoiding imperative verbs. I would often forget to proofread for imperative verbs and primarily lost marks due to this. However, as I have carefully worked through the assignments throughout this course, I have learned to be more mindful of this and improve slowly.
I chose this course to gain further exposure to the writing world that would essentially help me communicate effectively in the professional world. I believe this course successfully met my overall expectation of wanting to acquire an expanded range of writing practice to be able to develop constructive methods that will allow me to produce written material for different audiences as needed.
