Subject: Progress Report Update
As requested, I am writing to you to discuss the criteria provided in regards to my Formal Report assignment.
The targeted audience of my report are the executive team members of London Drugs Head Office, including the company’s current CEO, Brandt C. Louie.
The goal of this report is to determine the suitability of implementing free access to therapy for pharmacy workers to help them reduce the long term effects of mental exhaustion.
This report is important because at the pharmacy department of London Drugs, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, the workload has significantly increased. By discussing the necessity of and possibly implementing free mental health therapy, the mental health of pharmacy employees could be improved. This improvement would lead to efficient workflow in the long-term which would ultimately benefit the company.
Research Plan:
- The problem is to recognize the best way possible to help pharmacy workers overcome mental exhaustion caused by a stressful work environment.
- Primary data sources will include interviews and/or anonymous surveys with pharmacy workers of London Drugs.
- Here is a composition of survey questions with an ethical introduction: https://blogs.ubc.ca/engl301-98a-2021sa/2021/06/25/pooja-patel-survey/
- Secondary sources include the utilization of case studies and news articles reporting on healthcare-related burnout.
- Here is a complete list of tasks that will be performed: design survey and distribute anonymously, analyze survey data and related case studies/articles, write a draft of the formal report, and implement the proposed solution if appropriate.
- Upon approval of the survey questions, they will be sent out to several pharmacy employees immediately. Once all the surveys have been completed, data analysis will be conducted followed by the composition of a draft by July 14, 2021.
Thank you for taking the time to review my progress report. Please feel free to contact me if you require any additional information and/or have any questions.
