He teaches Postmigration Studies and American minority literatures at l\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00e9tudes politiques de Paris. He is currently preparing a monograph that compares Maghrebi-French and Chicana\/o literature and visual narratives. More information about his research can be found on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alvaroluna.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Sharifi\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Azadeh Sharifi\u00a0<\/strong>is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theaterwissenschaft.uni-muenchen.de\/personen2\/wissenschaftliche-mitarbeiter\/azadeh_sharifi\/index.html\">Postdoc at the Institute for Theatre Studies at the Ludwigs-Maximilian University<\/a>, Munich (Germany) and currently works on the\u00a0DFG-Project on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kunstwissenschaften.uni-muenchen.de\/forschung\/forsch_projekte\/tw\/sharifi-postmigrantisches\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;(Post)migrantisches Theater in der deutschen Theatergeschichte &#8211; (Dis)Kontinuit\u00e4t von \u00c4sthetiken und Narrativen.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Leesing\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dorothee Leesing<\/strong> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/cenes.ubc.ca\/people\/dorothee-leesing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PhD Candidate at the CENES Department<\/a> at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (Canada). Her research revolves around the post-war perception of restructured cityscapes. She is interested in the representation of urban environments and mass dwellings in early digital gaming, children\u2019s and post-migrant literature, and 1950s press photography, with a focus on developments in West Germany. She can be contacted at <a href=\"mailto:Dorothee.Leesing@ubc.ca\">Dorothee.Leesing@ubc.ca<\/a> for any technical questions before and during the conference<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Pegorer\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Francesca Pegorer<\/strong> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/anth.ubc.ca\/faculty\/francesca-pegorer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PhD Candidate in Socio-cultural Anthropology<\/a> at the University of British Columbia,\u00a0Vancouver (Canada). Her doctoral research investigates everyday place-making practices among refugees of Syrian heritage in the city of Berlin (Germany), between senses of belonging and exclusion, right to the city and discrimination, grassroots understandings and EU framings of migration, integration and refuge. She focuses on affect, emotions and the body and takes a multidisciplinary approach that includes anthropology, urban studies, phenomenology, dance and performative arts, and postcolonial studies. Her previous research in Berlin was also centered on questions of belonging. She holds a master\u2019s degree in Sociocultural Anthropology from the Ca\u2019 Foscari University of Venezia and another in Architecture and Architectural Engineering from the University of Pavia.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Katrin\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Katrin Sieg\u00a0<\/strong>is <a href=\"https:\/\/gufaculty360.georgetown.edu\/s\/contact\/00336000014RpZrAAK\/katrin-sieg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Professor of German<\/a> jointly affiliated with the BMW Center for German and European Studies and the German Department at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. (USA). She is \u00a0also a member of the Executive Committee of the <a href=\"https:\/\/click.icptrack.com\/icp\/relay.php?r=148877206&amp;msgid=1051391&amp;act=6B15&amp;c=957088&amp;destination=http%3A%2F%2Fcouncilforeuropeanstudies.org%2F&amp;cf=29514&amp;v=3185d3fca1aacf9c46c3c9cc5af62d93a954eac00c3f3f70f2e1eff45e041084\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Council of European Studies, CES<\/a>. Her research focuses on German and European culture, postcolonial and critical race studies, as well as feminist studies.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Hallensleben\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Markus Hallensleben<\/strong> is Associate Professor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cenes.ubc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies,<\/a>\u00a0Affiliated Faculty Member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ies.ubc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Institute for European Studies<\/a>, and Steering Committee member of \u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/migration.ubc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Research\u00a0Excellence\u00a0Cluster on Migration<\/a>\u00a0at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (Canada). Her main fields of teaching and research are critical migration and border regime studies, Europe in postcolonial, globally entangled perspective, Mediterranean &amp; political anthropology. She established and runs the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.euroethno.hu-berlin.de\/de\/forschung\/labore\/europaeisierungsforschung\/standardseite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Critical Europeanization Studies Lab<\/a>\u201d at the Institute and has, more recently, written about postcolonial and \u201cpostmigrant Europe\u201d (in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campus.de\/buecher-campus-verlag\/wissenschaft\/soziologie\/postmigrantische_perspektiven-14259.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Postmigrantische Perspektiven<\/em><\/a>). <span lang=\"EN-US\">Her most recent book is edited together with several colleagues affiliated with the lab, entitled <\/span> <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.campus.de\/buecher-campus-verlag\/wissenschaft\/kulturwissenschaften\/europa_dezentrieren-14244.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Europa dezentrieren. His research focuses on postcolonial and multicultural literature and theory, including hybridity theory, racialization, migration and postmigration. Apart from a range of articles on literature and issues of migration, his books include <em>Migration Literature and Hybridity<\/em> (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), the co-edited <em>The Culture of Migration. Politics, Aesthetics and Histories<\/em> (I B Tauris, 2015) and the co-written <em>Reframing Migration, Diversity and the Arts: the Postmigrant Condition<\/em> (Routledge, 2019).
