There are several impacts that may affect the accuracy and sufficiency of our results. First of all, during our analysis, multi-criteria evaluation allows us to determine suitable locations for setting benches. However, since benches serve not only as memorial gifts, but also as a place for people to rest, it can not concentrate in one area. We are not able to get access to the locations of current benches and picnic tables that are already settled within the park. As a result, we are unable to eliminate locations that already have or are close to existing memorial benches from our results. Therefore, the suitable locations in our final map may already have benches installed, and can possibly have no extra spaces for new benches.
Secondly, when we try to determine trail access, we use buffers of bus stops, park facilities, schools and Dissemination Areas to evaluate the population visiting different parts of the park. However, such estimation is not necessarily accurate. We chose this estimation method because we were unable to access Metro Vancouver’s data of trail access for which they use sensors at the entrance of trails to obtain a more accurate dataset. Our results will be more reliable if we include that dataset into our analysis.
