Our heat map shows that the most suitable locations are concentrated in the northwest, the middle and the southeast of the park. The northwest area of the park is close to a bus stop and a school along Chancellor Boulevard, and three parking lots on NW Marine Dr. However, the nearby population of this area is relatively low (less than 45 people in a Dissemination Area). The southeast area of the park is facing the similar situation, with a bus stop and a school nearby, but has limited surrounding dwellings.
The top 25 most suitable spots selected for our final map, on the other hand, are narrowly distributed in the middle area of the park, at the north of W 16th Ave, along Salish Trail and Lily of the Valley Trail, and are close to UBC Childcare Service and Cleveland Trail Parking Lot. This area has gentle slope and is close to high population areas, which completely meets our requirements of an ideal bench location where it should be close to population, transportation, facilities with gentle slope.
