Welcome to my blog, which looks at the gay and lesbian liberation movement in Canada. I focus on Vancouver’s Gay Alliance Towards Equality (GATE) as an example of a gay activist group. The first section of the blog is dedicated to GATE, (use the tabs to the right of the “Home” tab to navigate), the second section examines heterosexism, the prevalent force in society that GATE faces off against, and a specific case, the Gay Tide Case, as an example of how these two entities clashed on the battlefield of Canadian law.
