My name is Pedraum Safarzadeh and I am a third year student studying Computer Science at UBC. I am born in Vancouver BC and I plan on staying in Vancouver to pursue a career in software development after graduation. I am interested in both web and mobile development and enjoy coding small programs during my spare time. Some of my other hobbies outside of Computer Science include playing chess, soccer, and video games. The programming languages I use the most are Java, JavaScript and C and I also use web development languages like HTML and CSS quite often as well. I have also been learning Rust and Erlang recently and plan on learning other programming languages that I am not familiar with in the near future.
The first major application I built in 2017 when I used Java to create a web multi-player memory game in which players take turns to try and create matching pairs. Writing this application also introduced me to writing tests using the JUnit Test Framework and made me realize the importance of slowly building up my application in small pieces and testing as I go along rather than creating my entire application all at once without any testing.
My dream is to work for EA in the future because ever since I was a child, I would try to buy as many of the games they developed as I can. In particular, I loved playing their FIFA games and still do to this day. I feel like getting the opportunity to work on theĀ EA Sports FIFA development team will combine my passion for coding, soccer and video games and would make me not ever want to miss a minute of work!
